What is prayer? Prayer is simply talking to God. You don’t need special words; just speak to him as you would a friend. God is always there to listen and answer if you allow Him to. Christians pray daily whatever their circumstances, this helps to strengthen our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Cannon Street has a number of prayer meetings throughout the week; details are on our week. We all need prayer at times.
If you would like to become a Christian, please say this prayer;
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I confess my sin to you now. I believe that you died for my sins, and rose again. I accept you into my heart as my personal Lord and Saviour. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer congratulations you are now a child of God.
Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
You now need to share your good news with someone. We also advise you to attend a local Bible based church and ask about a New Christians Group.
The Bible is God’s Word, try and read a small section each day. The Gospel of John is a good place to start. If you don’t own a Bible, a local church can help you get one. The Bible is also available online, (see our links page) but a personal copy is always best.
Pray every day as this is when you can tell God how you are feeling and ask him to help you. The above will help you with your new life as a Christian. If we can help in any way please contact us.
